MFCS Techno-Functional Consultant
Melbourne based Retailer — Melbourne, Australia
Platform: Oracle Retail · Type: Contract
Experience: 9-12 years
Modules: MFCS (SaaS), PCS (SaaS)
Job description
The client, a Melbourne-based retailer, is looking for an experienced MFCS Techno-Functional Consultant to support stock ledger, financial reconciliation, and GL integration processes within their Oracle Retail landscape. The ideal candidate brings deep functional knowledge of retail financial controls alongside hands-on technical capability to configure, troubleshoot, and extend MFCS.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Configure and support MFCS modules covering stock ledger, intercompany processing, COGS, and financial close cycles.
- Work closely with finance and merchandising stakeholders to translate business requirements into MFCS configuration and process design.
- Manage integration points between MFCS, RMS, and the GL/financial systems, ensuring data integrity across interfaces.
- Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies between MFCS and downstream financial systems.
- Support month-end and period-end close activities, including troubleshooting batch jobs and interface failures.
- Prepare functional and technical design documents (FDD/TDD) for enhancements and fixes.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and recommend permanent fixes.
- Collaborate with technical teams on PL/SQL-based customizations, batch scheduling, and interface tuning.
- Support UAT cycles, data validation, and knowledge transfer to client teams.
**Required Skills**
- 9–12 years total experience in Oracle Retail implementations, with substantial hands-on MFCS experience.
- Strong understanding of retail stock ledger concepts: cost/retail accounting, markdowns, markups, intercompany transfers, and inventory valuation.
- Working knowledge of RMS and how it feeds into MFCS (item, location, transaction data flows).
- Technical proficiency in PL/SQL, Oracle database structures, and batch job troubleshooting within the Oracle Retail stack.
- Experience with GL interface configuration and reconciliation reporting.
- Ability to work independently in a techno-functional capacity — comfortable speaking to both finance business users and technical teams.
- Strong documentation skills (FDD, TDD, test scripts).
**Good to Have**
- Exposure to ReIM (Retail Invoice Matching) or RPM (Retail Price Management) as adjacent modules.
- Prior experience with retailers in fashion, grocery, or general merchandise verticals.
- Familiarity with Oracle Retail v16–v19 or cloud-based RGBU suite versions.
- Experience working in Australian retail environments or with AU-specific tax/financial reporting nuances.
**Engagement Details**
- Initial contract: 3 months, with strong likelihood of extension based on project phase and performance.
- Engagement model: open to discussing daily rate (AUD) contracting or corp-to-corp, depending on candidate setup.
